About...

The Dresses of Drowning Creek is my first novel in a series inspired by over 150 actual handmade vintage dresses I discovered in an abandoned North Carolina farmhouse. This dress collection is at the heart of the series, with each book focusing on different dresses and their wearers.

I am a former criminal defense attorney, a grant-winning fiber artist whose work has appeared in gallery shows, and an ethnographer of the U.S. South with publications in the New Encyclopedia of Southern Culture. I hold master’s degrees in Women’s Studies and American Studies.

I live in rural Georgia in a log cabin in the woods with my sweet husband, man-cub, and other critters.
